From Shadows to the Seated Savior

Jul 5, 2026    Pastor Spencer Fusselman

Many Christians live as though they are still on trial before God, constantly performing and hoping it is enough. But the book of Hebrews makes one thing unmistakably clear: if you are in Christ, the verdict has already been read. Jesus, our perfect High Priest, is seated at the right hand of God, not because He is passive, but because His atoning work is completely finished. In the ancient Jewish court system, the right-hand scribe was the one who stood to announce a verdict of acquittal, and that is exactly what Jesus does for every believer. He is not ministering in a building made by human hands. He dwells inside every believer through the Holy Spirit, making the church not a place but a people. The new covenant He mediates is not a refreshed version of the old. It is qualitatively superior, sealed in His blood, and built on better promises. Stop bargaining with God and stop scorekeeping. The acquittal has already been announced.
