The Bible Says The Law Was USELESS? (Hebrews 7 Explained)

Jul 4, 2026    Pastor Spencer Fusselman, Bob Huffman

The Old Testament Law had a fatal flaw: it couldn't actually fix you.

We spend so much time trying to be "good enough" for God, but Hebrews 7:19 drops a massive truth bomb on our legalism: "The law made nothing perfect." The law was a mirror. It could show you the dirt on your face, but it didn't have the power to wash you clean. That is why God had to bring in a "better hope" through the eternal priesthood of Jesus Christ!

In this week's episode of The Drive Bible Podcast, Bob and Spencer break down why the Old Covenant was legally cancelled, and how we are now called to be "living stones" offering spiritual sacrifices under Grace.

Tune in for our 3-Step Plan for the New Priesthood:

Stop Trying to Revive the Law: Why you need to rest in Grace instead of striving for perfection.

Embrace Your Place as a "Living Stone": Why a Christian in isolation is completely useless.

Offer the Sacrifice of Submission: How your quiet good works can silence the loudest critics in our culture.

The Old Covenant gave us a rulebook we couldn’t keep; the New Covenant gives us a High Priest who keeps us.
